The City of Sails is a dangerous place, a port city filled with pirates and bloodthirsty thugs. It straddles the mouth of the river and stands as the gateway to the mineral wealth beneath.
Pranton is ostensibly ruled by the people. However, it is suspected that the real power in Pranton is wielded by a single man who writhes in the pit of sin, the owner or the Burden Bearer Complex.
The seafaring merchants of Pranton have always been fierce, proud, and warlike. Over their long history they have feuded with even the old council of Pranton, the coastal city of Arkington, and the island realm of Scarvendale. Even today they sponsor pirates who prey on ships and ports up and down the Sacred South. They also trade with Slyvanailia, Dermaine, and many other towns that prefer not to be associated with them, but will meet them on the neutral ground of Pranton.
The Pranton River runs along path to the town then surrounds Pranton, making it almost appear to be growth on the land. The northern section is the most town-like, consisting of a bank, blacksmith, bowyer, clothier, jeweler. The southern half of the city is slightly older. When the town was merely residential properties after all of their businesses were destroyed in the Orc invasion. Large thick walls surrounding this heavily armored town.
There is one way into the city and one way out. It is rumored that rather than risk having their town leveled again, they could burn their own bridge to stop the advancing enemy.
